The HEART Corps disaster preparedness and response product line will include uniquely tailored products designed to address specific humanitarian needs and will be consistent with the United Nations Cluster Approach.

 

Daedalus will assemble supplies—in tailored kits and bulk—that are geographically, culturally, nutritionally, and environmentally-sensitive and appropriate to the needs. The overarching objective is to get the right goods and services to the right place as rapidly as possible.

 

All items included in the HEART-Corps product line will be available for purchase—either individually or in assembled kits—for personal use or for donation. The line will include:

HEART-CORPS – SHELTER

• Shelter kits will provide rapid-reaction, temporary shelter from the elements for family-size, or larger units. The shelters will reflect cost-effective, state-of-the-art technology that is durable and enduring.

 

• HEART-CORPS FIRST AID AND PUBLIC HEALTH

• First Aid and Public Health kits will provide appropriate supplies for those rendering aid and providing for the restoration and maintenance of public health in the face of disaster.

• HEART-CORPS – COMMUNITY

• Community kits will, as the name implies, serve the greater needs of communities that are affected by disasters. While community requirements are enormous and diverse in the face of various types of disasters, they all relate to common goals providing aid and comfort through community facilities that are appropriate to the situation and will support community-scale functions, such as meal service and sanitation.

• Nutrition kits will provide for the basic nutritional necessities of communities affected by disaster and will concentrate upon meeting the needs of the most vulnerable and those with special needs iin a culturally-sensitive and nutritionally-sound manner.
